Tony took up playing trumpet when he was just a child. By the time he was Fourteen years old, he mastered the instrument so well that he was offered to play in the city band. When he got older he was again offered to play for John Phillip Sousa's great marching band. He and Courtney Tucker were great friends. They later lived in the same neighborhood, about a block from each other, and both ran businesses in Stevens Point. Tony a grocery store and Courtney a camera shop. Courtney was also a UW-Stevens Point Graduate.
(In the city band picture you can hardly see him-he was the youngest member of the band-Courtney was older-but they became great friends-even after retirement they still associated with each other.)
